The Catholic Treasury

"And I tell you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds and to him who knocks it will be opened" (Luke 11:9-10)

Welcome to The Catholic Treasury. We are a Roman Catholic Lay Ministry whose main purpose is to rescue Roman Catholic religious articles, repair them if need be and then distribute them to the poor, to Roman Catholic churches, missions and schools.

Many Roman Catholic churches, schools, convents and monasteries are being closed due to either a decline in attendance, a lack of available funding or a decline in religious vocations (priesthood or religious life). The contents of these holy places are being thrown away or discarded because they are no longer needed. In addition, many Holy sacramentals are being discarded by families of deceased Roman Catholics. During the past three years, The Catholic Treasury has saved a number of religious articles that would have gone into the waste dump.

The Catholic Treasury is committed to the saving, restoration and distribution of religious articles so that others less fortunate might have something to call their own. Churches, missions, schools and the poor who are unable to purchase religious sacramentals for themselves for whatever reason, receive the religious articles that we obtain.

Religious Sacramentals Needed

How many sacramentals are lost because they are thrown away is not known but it is certain a goodly number. What kind of sacramentals are we talking about? This list includes old rosarys that may need some type of repair or they are just sitting around in a box drawing dust. This list could also include old statues that once stood proudly in a church, convent or monastary. What about crucifixes that have somehow gotten thrown in a drawer and forgotten or any other religious sacramentals not being used?

The Catholic Treasury believes that in order for the traditions of our Roman Catholic faith to continue and to grow, we must preserve the Holy Sacramentals and pass them on to those within the church that have a need for them. We also believe that by our rescuing these religious articles, we are keeping them out of the hands of those who would do harm to the Roman Catholic faith by using them for purposes other than for what they are meant to be used.

Religious Sacramentals that are needed include but are not limited to the following: Rosarys; Medals; Scapulars; Crucifixes; Vestments for priest, deacons and altar servers; Statues of Blessed Mother, Our Lord, the Saints, the Angels and Stations of the Cross; Chalices, Patens, Ciboriums, Monstrances, Cruets and Bowls; Sacramentary's and Lectionary's; Prayer books, Hymnals, Missals, Prayer Cards; and, First and Second Class Relics of Saints. If you have any old religious sacramentals like those just listed that you would like to get rid of, please send them to us so that we may give them to those will put them to good use. Thank you for any and all assistance.

May the peace, love and joy of Our Lord, Jesus Christ and Blessed Mother Mary be with you always.
